Tourists encouraged to visit Lanzarote for “something different”
Tourism chiefs on Lanzarote say visitors flock to the island to seek a different type of holiday and they intend to capitalise on this.
A seminar, led by Tourism of Lanzarote, concluded that homing in on the promotion of specific tourism segments in search of experiences was one of the ways forward for the future.
They also stressed the need for “quality tourism” and the renewal of public and private infrastructure.
More than a dozen organisations, including government agencies and private companies, were represented at the tourism forum with the ulti-mate goal of improving the experience and satisfaction of tourists.
Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio and CEO of the Society for the Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote said such forums were vital “because they work as forums for debate, analysis and proposals”.
“It is a system with two aspects: the tourist destination and companies offering services related to the sector,” they commented.
Lanzarote is currently going through a tourism bonanza and this was considered a good tme to look at the renewal of accommodation.
The aim is also to increase the availability of tourism and leisure experiences.
