'Vino a Port' Will Combine Local Gastronomy with An Outstanding Selection of Wines from the Island
The marina, Marina del Sur will host the second edition of this event that brought together more than 3,000 people last year.
The facilities of the marina of Marina del Sur de Las Galletas, in the municipality of Arona, will host the second edition of Vino a Port on November 4. An open meeting aimed at the general public, it combines a wide range of cuisine with the best selection of wines from the island of Tenerife. It also includes a varied program of leisure activities from musical performances throughout the day, to workshops, tastings on board, astronomy and wine, and several cookings.
Given the great feedback from first edition of this event, Marina del Sur, in collaboration with the Tourist Board and the area of economic promotion of the City of Arona, Marina del Sur will again provide the location to carry out Wine on port.
In charge of promotion, Marketing and Communication of Marina del Sur, Cristina Iglesias, has highlighted the importance of this event - which is to make Tenerife visitors informed of the varied cuisine and wine that the island has in a unique environment, such as a sports marina.
"During the first edition of Vino a Port 40% of visitors were of foreign origin, which has allowed us to create synergies between nautical tourism, the local population, the sea and the singularities of the Canary Islands," explains Cristina Iglesias.
The event is also presented as a business alternative through the sale of the wines of the five denominations of origin of the Island, which represents an opportunity to open new markets and retain customers among the local population and the tourists that go to Arona.
The wine festival will have the support of Turismo de Tenerife, the Cit del Sur and the company La Mar de Vinos, as well as the City of Arona. More information: www.marinadelsur.es
