Tenerife to host May Congress of Travel Bloggers
160 writers will take advantage of their stay and carry out multiple activities in Tenerife during The Travel Bloggers Meeting 2017.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the Travel Bloggers Meeting 2017 on May 26- May 28th, which will bring together bloggers from Spain, South America and Europe. The event is sponsored by the Cabildo, through Turismo de Tenerife, the City of Santa Cruz, through the Development Society, and the collaboration of Vueling and Sixt. #TBMTenerife
The insular tourism councilor, Alberto Bernabé, has highlighted the "incalculable impact" of such an event, "played by over one hundred travel bloggers who are going to be learning and writing about Tenerife."
The Economic Vice President of the Cabildo, Efraín Medina, has also referred to the enormous impact of these professionals "whose information and impressions are highly valued by travelers when they decide to visit a destination."
María Victoria Rodríguez, representing the Travel Bloggers Meeting, explained that the meeting of bloggers combines the training activity itself, with the organization of workshops or lectures, with another part more playful dedicated to "living the experiences that the destination offers."
Lastly, the regional director of Sixt, Leticia Lombrana has highlighted the support of his company to bloggers "because we consider that they are our ideal prescribers."
Parallel to the work sessions of a congress event, travel writers will take advantage of their stay in the island by exploring various activities in the island and the main tourist attractions of Tenerife so that they can write about them.
Among these activities is tasting local gastronomy, getting to know Tenerife's handicrafts, hiking in Anaga, visiting the Teide National Park, watching cetaceans, or practicing water sports such as scuba diving or kayaking, among others.
The Travel Bloggers Meeting has been held in its eight previous editions in Seville, Barcelona, Malaga, Buenos Aires, Sierra de Gredos, Gijón, Plasencia and Andorra. In this last edition the event reached the number of 37.9 million impressions on the social network, Twitter.
Vueling, which has been accompanying the travel blogger community for five years, will also be present at #TBMTenerife, facilitating the movement of those bloggers and bloggers who wish to attend the big event. Vueling has established itself as one of the major airlines in Tenerife, with a wide range of direct routes, both national and international, operating to the airports of North and South Tenerife.
The first hundred registrations will be offered a discount of 50% on return flights, on all routes that connect with Tenerife from the peninsula.
Travel bloggers are very important in the Sixt Spain strategy as the company considers that they are the perfect subscribers for the brand. For the third consecutive year, Sixt also sponsors the Travel Bloggers Meeting of Spain by offering discounts for car rentals, contest prizes, and various other support.
Sixt Spain has had more than 40 collaborations with travel bloggers in 2016. In addition, the main campaign to promote the new Tenerife office, opened in March 2016 at Tenerife South airport, and featured Paco Nadal, one of the most important travel bloggers in the country.
