Whale & Dolphin Watching

Another "must" experience for visitors to Tenerife is a whale- and dolphin-watching boat or catamaran ride. Of the world's 79 species of dolphins and whales, 21 live near Tenerife, including permanent colonies of pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, giant blue whales, and Orca whales. All live just three miles off the coast year-round and have made Tenerife one of the most popular places in Europe for seeing these majestic creatures.

Included in packages offered by Quest Travel Adventures (the official U.S. office of representation for Tenerife) are trips 45 minutes offshore for guaranteed sightings of the dolphins and whales, along with other marine life such as many species of sea birds, turtles, sharks, and manta rays. While the boats have a capacity for 50, passengers are limited to 25 to enhance the personal experience.
